The NISC is a new post-season softball tournament for those teams that don't make the big dance - similar to the NIT in basketball.

Liberty won 5 straight elimination games including the championship game today.

They did get a little help from the weather. They led 3-1 after 5 complete only to see Lamar score 4 in the top of the 6th to take the lead. However, in the bottom of the 6th, the skies opened up and the umps called the game with the score reverting to the last full inning played. Thus, the Flames get the 3-1 win.
